The Encyclopedia of Lynncair

Martyr's Point is located just North of the great marble bridge connecting the province of Kiastar to the Lynncairen mainland. The region North-East of the Kiastarel, along the coast, consists of high, sheer cliffs, and Martyr's Point is the highest-point along those coast-side cliffs. It is said that in ancient times, a man whose name has now been forgotten was hailed as a prophet and savior by many of Kiastar's common folk; they were, as a people, oppressed by the brutal theocracy of Kiastar, and this man promised to overthrow the Province's government, and relieve the people of Kiaster from their torment. The government in turn harried the man out of the city and cornered him at Martyr's Point, where it is said he chose to plunge over the cliff rather than die at the hands of Kiastar's oppressive rulers. Much to the dismay of Kiastar's rulers, the place has been named in his honor.
