The Encyclopedia of Lynncair

Jaton is a remote seaside town to the North of Lynncair, just beyond the Forest of Tsikara. It is only remote, of course, for travelers-by-land; it is economically-sound due to the large amount of traffic it receives from sailors and pirates alike who frequent its many taverns and inns. It does not have the best of reputations due to the nature of the people it harbors, yet it is, in general, a fairly harmless place to be, and Jaton's count is an honest, well-intentioned man. Still, not many people can reach Jaton due to the natural obstacles that render what would otherwise be a short jaunt a long, perilous voyage; the Forest of Tsikara is hardly safe, the Valley of Lost Faith is one of the most avoided places on Lynncair, and the Debira Reach is as harsh and unforgiving a place as the Great Desert. People born in Jaton often spend their entire lives in Jaton, unless they become sailors and see other places in Lynncair that way (which, it must be said, many do).
