The Encyclopedia of Lynncair - Geography -
South-East
The region bounded to the North by the Sereti Hills and to the West by the Trivimar Mountains is commonly considered the South-Eastern region of Lynncair. It is a fairly diverse region in terms of geographical features, including several mountain ranges, forests, rivers, and even a marsh. The Sereti Plains and the Sereti Hills are both located in the area just to the North of the Beldar Peaks, which stretch horizontally across the entire region. In the North-East corner of the region, on the East coast of Lynncair, is the city of Eastcross, which is one of the larger port cities in the land. The East Kranomyrr Road--a royal highway--connects the capital, Kranomyrr, to Eastcross. As far as towns go, Brimsdale, Vrisbane and Bridgeton are each located on the Myshar Road, which stretches from the Southern tip of the Omir Wood up along the Myshar Hills to arrive in Bridgeton. At Bridgeton, after crossing the Eastflow, the Myshar Road curls up and continues North along the coast all the way up to Eastcross. The Eastflow and the Southflow are the two major rivers to be found in the region--the Eastflow starts in the middle of the Beldar Peaks, snakes its way through the Rosewood, then continues East, where it reaches Bridgeton and empties into the ocean. The Southflow originates right where the Trivimar and the Beldar mountains meet, from a subterranean source that empties itself into Wilmar Lake via one of the land's tallest known-waterfalls (Wilmar Falls, after the explorer of the same name who first documented the location of the lake and falls). Dominating the South-Eastern tip of Lynncair is the vast Marsh of Aloun, which is bounded to the West by the Southflow, and to the North by the East Myshar Hills (the Myshar Hills are split into the East and the West Myshar Hills; "East" and "West" are determined by which side of the Southflow the hills are located on). Along with the Wilmar Falls is the waterfall known as Tivir's Fall, named rather morbidly after the eccentric man called Tivir who threw himself from the top of the falls at the Eastern edge of the Beldar Peaks, just outside of Bridgeton. There are three major forests located in the South-East of Lynncair: the Omir Wood, located North of Brimsdale but South of the Eastflow, the Rosewood, located North of the Eastflow and nestled just up against the Beldar Peaks, and the Juvam Wood, which is just South and West of the coastal city of Eastcross. |
