HoF Interview for PtD

Steve Savicki was kind enough to offer me yet another Hall of Fame interview, this time for Perchance to Dream. Read it here. :)

On the topic of progress, I actually got a lot of cutscene work done during Thanksgiving break. From area design to custom VFX work to scripting and writing, there was a bit of everything...I'm starting to get back in the modding swing after that post-release lapse of Moonshadows - Chapter One. Woohoo!

Perchance to Dream wins Best Action Module of 2006!

The title says it all! The winners have been announced, and Perchance to Dream has earned the Best Action Module of 2006 Golden Dragon award!

I am SO PSYCHED. I don't even know what to say. Thanks, AME!

Congrats as well to the other winners--it's an honor to be singled out along with other such talented individuals such as Savant, ol' FP, Aristan, Berra, John "Gestalt" Bye, lord rosenkrantz, David John, and ragnarok_mr4.

W00t!

AME & NWNPodcast

So I listened to NWNPodcast for the first time today. In the past I've always started to listen, then sort of just gotten bored in the first few minutes of gimmicky, cheesy stuff. :) But this time I stuck through the intro, filler stuff and when I got to the interviews, I was actually really impressed and entertained. I don't know if I'll be tuning back in regularly, but I may check it out if the subject matter is particularly intriguing in the future. Since this past episode (39) was about the Academy of Modding Excellence, who should be announcing final awards in 3 days (!), I figured it would be worth my time to listen in. I'd recommend checking it out!

Perchance to Dream Nominated for 2006 'Best Action Module' Golden Dragon Award!

The title says it all--it was just announced that my recent-HoF-inductee and final NWN1 module, Perchance to Dream, is one of three final nominees for the Best Action Module Golden Dragon Award, a new set of Vault-sanctioned awards in the spirit of the Oscars. I sort of began suspecting this might be the case a few weeks ago, when both BGP Hughes, the AME Chairman, and tdonadio/Andarian, the vice-chairman, both played and voted on PtD...but I obviously couldn't be sure. But it's official! I'm in the running for another award. W00T!!!!! Heheh.
The competition is interesting. Savant's The Fall of Aielund, Part II is well-known for being a strong hack'n'slash, epic-level romp. Aylomeiger's Magical Curios, by mattd, I've honestly never really heard of, and so can't really judge how strong of a candidate it is. I'm optimistic that the module-specific custom-content that I made for PtD will help to set it apart in the eyes of the judges: 10 new, unique custom spells specifically for Khelben "The Blackstaff" Arunsun, including the famous Silver Fire ability, have got to count for something! I'm just going to cross my fingers, toes and eyes and hope for the best! ;)

Moonshadows Earns Reviewers' Award!

Moonshadows was recently reveiwed by the Vault Reviewer Admin, Dormammu, and it scored highly enough (8.07 final score) to earn a much-coveted Reviewers' Award!!! I am so psyched about this, particularly with it coming right on the heels of Hall of Fame for Perchance to Dream and 5000 downloads for Moonshadows...hopefully NWN2 Hall of Fame will soon come to pass as well..! :)
I must say that I am a bit of an award-addict...it's kinda sad, but at the same time, it is really gratifying to see that others are enjoying what I worked for so long to produce. So, next up in our "to-daydream-about-getting" list...a Golden Dragon award, and Mod of the Year award! ;)

Moonshadows Hits 5000!

Well, it's November 6th, 52 days after Moonshadows - Chapter One was released on the NWVault on September 16th...and the 5000 download mark has been reached! I must say that I am super-excited about this; it's been a good few weeks for milestones, what with Perchance to Dream qualifiying & being inducted into the Hall of Fame for NWN1, and now Moonshadows breaching the 5000 d/l barrier, as well as going back above 9.00 for a rating...I'm not sure whether or not it'll be inducted in the NWN2 Hall of Fame for December...but I'm kinda hoping it will be, because that would make it qualify for Mod of the Year for 2007 for NWN2, which is something that I would be really excited to see Moonshadows participate in! In any event, thanks to everyone for their support of my NWN1 and NWN2 projects thus far, and thanks in advance for your continued support! It's much appreciated. :)

Perchance to Dream hits HoF!

I am thrilled to announce that my final NWN1 module, Perchance to Dream, was inducted into the Vault Hall of Fame today, bringing my total of NWN1 HoF entries to 7 (5 modules, 2 movies)! :) All my full releases are now in the Hall of Fame, meaning I can *finally* fully remove myself from NWN1 and rest assured that all is well, so to speak. :) There's still the AME awards and Module of the Year stuff going on (and I'm hoping PtD stands a chance in those), but it's great to be able to sort of wipe my hands clean.

Among the other HoF inductees for this month was Ossian buddy Zach Holbrook (aka Maerduin), whose Grimm Tales contest entry, The Birthday, qualified for HoF. Congrats! I'm hoping Moonshadows will soon follow suit...

That's all, folks!

New tags on BioWare forums; trick-or-treat'ing

So I dressed up in a toga and went trick-or-treating yesterday. Yes, I'm 18 years old. Yes, I went trick or treat'ing. Yes, I monty-hauled the candy as if I were a character in MotB and gold/overpowered items were edible. It was awesome.

Also, Ossian team members now have special "Ossian Studios" tags on the BioWare forums--they're like Moderator or BioWare tags, but with a much cooler logo. ;) It makes me feel REALLY cool to go post on the forums now! A chicken I am no longer!
